Game of Life:
Play a round of "Game of Life", the famous game introduced by British mathematician J. H. Conway in
1970. It's actually not a game, but rather a simulation where cells are
occupied by "organisms" that "multiply" according to a fixed
set of rules.
Shark
Attack: A simple game where the object is to guide a virtual shark so that
it catches all virtual swans as fast as possible (the swans were actually
photographed in my backyard). The game comes complete with sound effects but requires the
Java plugin. A simpler version
is available also that runs without any extra tools.
Tower of
Hanoi: Use your own wits or double-recursion to move disks from one peg to another
peg to solve the Tower of Hanoi puzzle.
The Poincare Pool and Poincare Puzzle are two applets
that let you play games inside non-Euclidian space. M.C. Escher, a famous
graphic artist, was quite fond of this type of geometry (check the "Resources"
page to learn more about non-Euclidian geometry).
